Clement began learning the art of violin-making in the workshop of Karl Hoefner\/Paesold in Bubenreuth, Germany. In 2010 Clement opened his own workshop in Leipzig, Germany. He is an active member in many organisations including the association of German Violin \u0026amp; Bow Makers. This instrument comes with a certificate, declaration of materials and photos from the maker. \u003c\/p\u003e \n\n\u003cp\u003eThe VA5 has a two-piece moderately flamed maple back while the top is made from spruce. This instrument is based on a Guarneri viola model \u0026amp; has ebony fittings. This viola has been lightly antiqued with a good cover of golden to orange-brown varnish. Klaus Clement is particularly well-known for his varnishing. The formula he uses is constantly changing \u0026amp; improving as he investigates the effect of the varnish on the sound of his instruments. \n\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eOverall this viola has a big, bright \u0026amp; bold sound.
